Day 24: Don’t Build a Business. Build People.

Most people focus on building a business.
But if you build people, the business takes care of itself.
That one shift changed how I lead, grow, and scale.
In my early years, I made the same mistake many do:
I tried to do everything myself. I was the salesperson, the trainer, the motivator.
It worked—for a while.
But I burned out. Growth plateaued.
I realized: A real business is one that grows without you in every room.
That’s when I changed my focus from building a business… to building people.
I began mentoring others, not just managing them.
I invested time helping people find their strengths.
I empowered them to take ownership.
That’s when the magic happened.
A former team member stepped up. Then another.
Soon, I wasn’t the only one closing deals or solving problems.
The business multiplied—not because I worked harder,
but because others started growing with me.
Here’s what I learned:
"You don’t scale a business by working more—you scale it by raising leaders."
In Chapter 10 of From Zero to Your First Million,
I break down how to build an empowered team,
create growth systems,
and develop people who can lead without you.
Start building people—and the business will follow.
