In 2000, I was earning just $953 a month as a courier in Dubai. Rent was late, my fridge was almost empty, and sometimes the electricity was cut off.
One morning, I walked into work and discovered that Mike, my coworker of 20 years, had been fired overnight. That moment shook me to the core and made me realize something important: no job is truly secure.
That night, in my dark apartment, I wrote four questions by candlelight that changed my life forever.
